Rhinoplasty Revision May be Needed

October 14th, 2009 No comments

Was it not too long ago that you got your rhinoplasty surgery done? If you are not satisfied with how your nose was shaped you can request a secondary rhinoplasty or as it is also called rhinoplasty revision. Unfortunately, you will have to pay full amount for the revision as you did for your initial surgery. Although, it may not seem fair and you feel that you did all of your research right and went to the best plastic surgeon that you could find you may need to have your procedure revised a little bit. If you ask around you will probably find that this is not an uncommon thing among people who have work done to their nose. Even the famous King of Pop Michael Jackson had to have his rhinoplasty surgery revised several times because of the nature of the procedure.

It takes a doctor almost a lifetime before he is able to really perfect the art of reshaping the nose into the nose that the patient wants. There is a lot that a surgeon must learn about doing rhinoplasty before he will be able to lower the rate of rhinoplasty revision procedures that he must perform. This is a type of surgery that a plastic surgeon or doctor gets better at after performing a few thousand of them.

Rhinoplasty Revision Nose Markers Surgery Preparation

If you want to get some great work done to your nose and reduce the chances that you will be back on the operating table in a few months then you will want to do some research. Start looking around for plastic surgeons or surgeons experienced in otolaryngology. When you find one that you like do not just ask how much the price is going to be. You are not purchasing a used car! This is your nose and it is very important that you find out as much information about the procedure and statistics of the doctor that you are interested in using. One thing you might ask the surgeon is how often he / she has to perform a rhinoplasty revision. If they are a good upstanding practice then they will give you the information you are looking for. They will probably offer you an explanation for any high numbers they give you.

One thing that is important to note; if you are suing the doctor that performed your primary rhinoplasty then you may not want to mention it in front of the surgeon that you are interested in getting to perform your rhinoplasty revision procedure. Talk of a lawsuit will scare some doctors into not wanting to do the surgery in case something with your nose messes up. Male rhinoplasty is a little harder to perform a revision on, so if you are a man that is looking for a solution for your failed operation then you may want to talk extensively with the next surgeon that you are interested in getting to do the procedure for you.
